Welcome to Cycleo
The Innovative wireless long range semiconductor IP provider to AMR, M2M, telecom and consumer markets
Cycleo is a leading supplier of wireless semiconductor IP. Cycleo markets an IP portfolio dedicated to long range, low power digital modem. Cycleo IP is provided to end users and integrated device manufacturers (IDM) willing to adress the challenges of next generation machine to machine communication. Founded in 2009, Cycleo has grown rapidly and offers its customers a wide range of IP covering different applications and frequencies.
High performances
Lora™ core technology, available as an IP, is a digital only modem. This technology brings up to 20 dB extra sensitivity to existing radio front end, extending the range by a factor of 10. A typical subGigahertz radio front end associated with the Lorasub(tm)modem takes a design to a record level of - 143 dBm sensitivity (see performance tab) without compromising on cost or power. At very low data rates breathtaking performances are achieved (-153 dBm) enabling a broader range of applications.
Versatile
Cycleo technology portfolio covers frequencies ranging from 160 MHz to greater than 5 GHz. Ip is very versatile and manages variable bandwidth, variable and adaptive data rates. It fits with polar or cartesian radio and accommodates all types of ADCs. Clock speed requirements are very limited and Lora will adapt to available signals. Needless to say that a sytem equipped with Lora(tm) would be bi-directionnal and will have the same performances back and forth
Low cost and low power
With a very low gate count, standard memory and no analog portion, the IP is easy to integrate and limited in size. Modest clock speed and digital only engine do make the Lora(tm) IP a small high yield block in the design. System requirements are very limited. No external components required , basic Xtal, standard power management ....nothing complex to be taken care off.
Any system with higher sensitivity by design would consume less energy to transmit data far away, A Lora(tm) based system would outperform any existing design in that respect. On top of this transmission caracteristics do allow a large power gain on the power amplifier itself compared to typical systems (Bluetooth(r) for instance). Typically coupled with customer provided low power radio, Lora™ takes any application to the next step enabling battery operated long range communications.
Applications
-
- Automatic meter reading: retrieve data from remote meters or in harsh conditions. Enable multi-year battery operation.
- Machine to Machine: long range low power mass market compatible link between machines, systems
- Assets management: Ideal solution for assets tracking. Cost effective, long range, easy to operate
- Meshed network: The only solution for battery operated sensor network – limits greatly repeaters
- Voice transmission: long range walky-talkies
